baby in a box!

yep, we’re giving it a shot. we’re trying the conception kit. last month we toyed with the cervical cap after having sex. you have to practice putting it on, so i thought: why not try after sex? maybe it’ll hold the spermies up there! last month wasn’t a success so this month we decided to officially give it a real try. here’s how it works:

  1. get a positive OPK
  2. talk to husband to manage expectations that this won’t be the sexiest sex ever
  3. put condom on husband
  4. have sex
  5. carefully remove condom and dump semen into the cervical cap
  6. place cap on cervix
  7. chill for 6 to 8 hours

you notice it on your cervix at first, but after a while you barely notice it. it’s sort of tricky to place it properly and you have to be careful not to spill it. there’s a little loop in the cup for easy removal too. i’m not confident that my CF is the correct texture but we got a +OPK yesterday so we’re giving it a whirl. taking robitussin just in case.

we have two more caps so if it doesn’t work this month we can try again. although if this doesn’t work, we might decide for intervention next month or the following. stay tuned for updates!
